VESSEL TYPE / LENGTH:
OSMOSIS REPAIR:
Cutter-rig sloop / 12 meter
Full hull

DESCRIPTION:

This balsa cored vessel had previosly undergone a full bottom Osmosis repair.
This had failed and the underwater areas were covered in large deep blisters. The majority of the hull read very high in moisture content. We had to remove 3mm of laminate on this vessel to get through the worst of the blisters and back to a decent laminate. This vessel required 45 hours of 'hot vacing' to bring the moisture levels down to the required level
before glassing.

Three layers of Chopped Strand Mat went back onto the hull which replaced the laminate that we removed.

This project was completed over a 8 week time frame.
